When I decided to give handmade bath salts for holiday gifts this year I looked at several different tutorials online. A few suggested adding purple food coloring which I could not understand. Why would you want purple food coloring in your bath water, right?  I decided to do a more stripped down (aka easy) version with things I already had around the house: lavender + rosemary.

This lavender + rosemary bath salt recipe is very simple and can be made in large quantities or small by adjusting the measurements. I made a big batch and gave a jar to all of the ladies in my family. It smelled so fragrant and relaxing that I had to save some for myself! The lavender scent is so peaceful and soothing. In essential oil form, the scent of lavender can even relieve headaches. Who knew?

So go ahead, whip up your very own fancy bath salts and go take a nice long soak. You totally earned it!

Try using ribbon or twine that you already have at home and add a simple bow around the lid of the jar. Tip: Save a few Lavender sprigs to add to the bow so it’s clear what is in the bath salt.
